I graduated from Humber‘s post-graduate certificate program in public relations. Since then, I have interned at Pennant Media Group, acted as a pr consultant for Scotiabank Belize and have worked in marketing at Scotiabank International in Toronto.
At Pennant Media Group I gained hands on experience as a publicist. I wrote press releases, trained other interns and worked with clients. While in Belize, I had the opportunity to work with UNICEF and Scotiabank. After discussions and research, I created and proposed the Scotiabank Belize Education Fund. My proposal was sent to Scotiabank head office where they approved the $100,000 CDN project.
My volunteer work in Belize opened the door to a career opportunity with Scotiabank International. At Scotiabank, I started as a communications manager. My main responsibilities included creating presentations for senior executive, managing internal events and editing internal communications. As a marketing services manager, I spearheaded the staff incentive component of the quarterly campaign; it was rolled-out in 29 countries.
Futhermore, I have learned to embrace non-traditional ideas and thrive in uncertain circumstances. My life experiences reveal my talent to quickly integrate myself in any situation and adapt my superior communication and interpersonal skills to succeed.
